Skip the frat party this year and head to one of the many frightening events happening throughout Maryland for the most spook-tacular Halloween yet.
Six Flags America’s Fright Fest in Upper Marlboro is already underway and will spook visitors each weekend now through Halloween. With 24 haunted attractions and more than 200 monsters roaming the park, be prepared for a scare when you least expect it. Or, take a road trip to Kings Dominion in Virginia for the month-long Halloween Haunt for mazes, haunted rides, shows and scare zones.
If amusement parks are not your scene, check out the two-night “Trick or Treat Like a Grownup” bar crawl in Bethesda on Oct. 28 or 29 for a spread of bars and pubs in the holiday spirit.
Not for the faint-hearted, Field of Screams Maryland in Olney tests guests’ courage (and lung capacity) with four haunted attractions open weekends through Nov. 5. While you try to calm down, indulge in s’mores, funnel cakes, and fried twinkies and oreos while sitting at one of the 15 bonfires.
